NOAA Research Facility on the campus of Scripps Institution of Oceanography, UC San Diego, in beautiful La Jolla, California is the new, state-of-the-art research facility designed to incorporate sustainable “green” design features throughout the incredible coastal-inspired building. This is the largest green roof construction in all of San Diego County. The landscape portion of the project was designed to blend into the existing hillside using native species. Marina will be revegetating multiple segments of the campus, incorporating local preservation measures throughout the surrounding area, and developing custom lightweight soil mixes for use in the green roof gardens.
